Description
From the collection: ‘Where the wind blows’.
At this time of year, in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains, the forest-clad hillsides are buffeted by strong winds. Clouds fly across the sky casting shadows that chase each other across the fields on the hillsides. Rivers cut deep gorges and caves. Here, somewhere amongst the greens and browns of the deep valleys, it is said the legendary Welsh highwayman, Twm Sion Cati, hid from the law in these hollow hills.
I’ve tried to capture the wildness of this wonderful part of Wales by using deep layers of paint that I’ve scratched in to, just like the wind whipping across the landscape. Can you hear it howling?
