Description
Part of the “Tranquility in the wilderness’ collection.
One of the things I love about north Pembrokeshire is the way the mountains come down to the sea. The Preseli mountains are beautiful and rugged, and form a stunning backdrop for the Nevern estuary. Here, the tides goes out a long way and exposes sand banks along its length. These are great to walk along as they give you a chance to view the landscape from a completely different angle. As the tide flows back in, these disappear, and you have to head back ashore before you get cut off by the tide.
I have used sand in the paint in this piece to reflect the ruggedness of the shoreline- a tactile painting for a tactile landscape.
