Dream Island

A proportion of all sales from this collection is being donated to the Wildlife Trust of S&W Wales, for the important conservation work being carried on Skokholm Island.

Skokholm Island has been a place of magic and wonder to me since I was a teenager: the cliffs teeming with sea birds; the seals bobbing around the shoreline; the carpets of Bluebells, Sea Campion, Sea Pinks and Red Campion; and the iconic colour palette of the purple-red rocks cloaked in bushy grey lichens with the splashes of bright orange. I was captivated from the moment I first set foot on the jetty.

It’s not only an SSSI; but is part of the Pembrokeshire Marine Special Protection Area; a national bird observatory supporting the largest concentration of breeding seabirds (with its sister island, Skomer) in England and Wales, and also an oft-overlooked incredibly magical place, of wild, unspoiled beauty on the coast of Pembrokeshire.

It always amazes me that such a tiny place can hold such importance environmentally, not just locally, but also on a global scale.

I hope this work will evoke the sense of wildness and wonder that being there brings, and to communicate some of the magic of the unique landscape and its wildlife.
