Time flies when you’re having so much fun.

Had a super super afternoon working with these lovelies: exploring mark making, colour, line, and composition, to create sketchbooks of abstract work and pieces for framing.

Their finished pieces were so beautiful and effective: and of course I completely forgot to take photos of them.

Sharing the joy of creativity with these guys was just fab.

This kit has turned mount cutting into a complete joy!

I’ve always loved cutting mounts , but it’s always resulted in sore hands and an aching back, and sometimes a sliding ruler so an inaccurate edge . Not any more!!!

It’s all still completely manual, but no more slipping ruler or mountboard.

I’ve spent a lovely afternoon cutting mount for some prints that have been waiting patiently to be framed.

Kicking myself that this kit had been in with the framing job-lot in the shed for about 3 years before I realised what it was!!!

I know, I know!!! Standard operating procedure eh?? 🤣🤣😉😉😉

It’s been far too long. ❤️

How fab to have time exploring my favourite castle (Carreg Cennen) and its gorgeous cave tunnel underneath; spending crazy amounts of time trying to take pics of all the subterranean formations; walking the Pal y Cwrt and trying to collect sediments for our respective new projects; brainstorming and planning arty antics; exploring our arty connections; scaling the heady heights of Dryslwyn Castle, and having the best Eggs Benedict for brunch (twice) at @lolfallandeilo

Had a lovely visit to @studiocennen today with my art buddy @nataliedayartist : what a beautiful collection of works the ‘Human Nature’ exhibition is, and so beautifully curated. It’s always a joy to spend time in this gallery surrounded by such amazing art.

Aaaaaand it’s over.

9 days of arty chatter, meeting and greeting art lovers old and new, having a go at painting, lots of laughter, cups of tea, chocolate brownies, and lots of art going off to new homes, and @tywi_valley_open_studios has come to a close for another year.

Thank you to everyone who came to visit me in the studio and making it such a super week, it’s been such fun. Diolch yn fawr iawn pawb. ❤️

Now it’s time to put everything back and cover the floor ready to get cracking on my new collection.
