Celtic memories.

Colour has always played a major part in my passion for the landscape, and it’s often what makes me want to paint it. After a trip to Iceland, I was struck by how the colour palette was so similar to my favourite places back at home: the landscapes in Iceland were on a much larger scale of course, their vastness was overwhelming, but the intensity and combination of hues was so reminiscent of home that I was eager to get back to the studio to paint.

I enjoyed using more textured materials in these pieces to add an extra dimension to the colours and emphasis the wild feel of our Welsh landscapes.
