Ceramics
With my fascination for the shapes and textures in the landscape, particularly rock formations, it’s not really surprising that I have become captivated by working with clay.
I had the idea of creating ceramic pieces to compliment my paintings: to capture the raw, wild Welsh landscapes in a different three dimensional medium. I’m extremely fortunate to have a very skilled potter as a friend, who when faced with my sketches, has been teaching me all about ‘playing with mud’, making glazes and firing techniques, to help me bring my ideas to life.
This is a relatively new development in my artistic journey, and I still have much to learn, but creating pieces that evoke the wonderful Welsh wilderness has become something of a passion.
