Description
This piece was inspired by the heather clad moors that lead up to my favourite mountain Picws Du, where the Lady of The Lake is said to have appeared with Excalibur. This was a regular place for wild walks for us, but for a year we weren’t able to enjoy the freedom of the wide open slopes, despite being able to see this view from our doorstep.
The broad marks and layering of the abstracted landscape evoke the wildness of the terrain, the ever-changing colours and the wonderfully mercurial Welsh weather; whilst the glimpses of what has gone before create those fleeting moments of wonder that keep us coming back for more and fill our souls with joy.
