Sitting on a hill overlooking the Cheshire Plain, I was making plein aire sketches of the view. It was a really moody day and the wind was making it an interesting exercise in holding down the paper, but the view was so lovely. As I started to work onto the board, it started to rain! painting plein aire whilst holding an umbrella in one hand, the easel down with one foot and the paintbrush in the other hand was tricky to say the least. But in the end, it worked. You can feel the wind in your hair as you look at the hill in the distance.
