Description
From the collection: ‘Distant Horizons’.
One of my favourite places on the planet is a little island off the Pembrokeshire coast called Skokholm. This magical place has a colour palette like I’ve never seen anywhere else. The Old Red Sandstone cliffs are a beautiful burgundy pink and they, quite literally, plunge into the jade-turquoise waters of the sea below. What makes the palette so striking are the splashes of vivid lime green of seaweeds on the rocks, and of the young bracken fronds above. When you sit and look at this landscape, you cannot help but notice these amazing colours and the jagged textures of the cliffs.
This painting is acrylic and oil on wooden panel, finished with a cold wax to give a soft sheen.
